Overview
Tickets is a Progressive Web App (PWA) developed as a school project. It allows organizers to create, manage, and validate event tickets end-to-end, from generation to door control.
Features
- Ticket generation: create tickets for an event with configurable categories and prices.
- PDF export: tickets can be printed or shared as PDF files.
- QR code validation: each ticket carries a unique QR code. Scanning it at the door marks it as used and shows the buyer’s information.
- Sales dashboard: overview of tickets sold by category and revenue totals.
- Validation history: real-time log of validated tickets, showing how many people have entered and how many tickets are still outstanding.
Technical Details
Built as a PWA, the app works offline and can be installed on any device from the browser. No native app store required.
The QR code validation flow is designed to work in low-connectivity environments (e.g. a venue entrance with poor signal), with local validation state synced to the server when the connection is restored.
School Context
The project was developed for a school course as a full-stack exercise, covering frontend, backend API, database design, and deployment.
